When college student Leila Heilos discovers she’s a half‑vampire and uncovers a CIA conspiracy draining purebloods for power, she must embrace her smoky alter‑ego Noir to rescue her imprisoned grandmother and stop a blood‑lusting resurrection—or become the monster she’s hunting.

When college student Leila Heilos’s life shatters into smoke and blood, she reawakens as Noir — a fierce, half-vampire vigilante haunted by a buried family secret and the ghost of her grandmother, Hathor. Torn between a craving for vengeance and the desperate hope for family, Leila must navigate a city where the CIA traffics in captive vampires, a charming but duplicitous agent named Alec Goffin plays both rescuer and betrayer, and loyal tech-geek Chad races to keep her one step ahead. Noir is a pulpy, action-driven supernatural noir that blends gritty rooftop chases, shadowy conspiracies, and ancient Egyptian myth into a dark, emotional struggle over what it means to fight monsters without becoming one.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

EXT. A SIDEWALK - MAY 3RD, 1996 - DAY

A cute little 10 year old skips down the sidewalk, blonde hair, blue eyes. Her 20 year old brother walks calmly after her. He’s handsome, wearing a college shirt.

LITTLE LEILA

Why do you like college Brian?

BRIAN HEILOS

Because I just do.

LITTLE LEILA

(playfully)

Seriously Brian?

BRIAN HEILOS

Seriously...How did you like the movie?

LITTLE LEILA

It was okay...What’s For lunch?

BRIAN HEILOS

We just ate lunch.

LITTLE LEILA

Oh yea... Then how about dinner?

BRIAN HEILOS

I dunno. Whatever mom’s cooking.

She gets to the corner of the street before he does. A puppy rolls in the grass across the street.

LITTLE LEILA

Ohh!

She starts after the dog. Not looking. Brian grabs her hand.

BRIAN HEILOS

Always look both ways. Always.

LITTLE LEILA

Fine..

The puppy continues to roll. She beams at it.

The crosswalk signal shines the little man at them.

BRIAN HEILOS

Hold my hand while we cross.

They start walking across the street. Out of nowhere a Black SUV careens out of controll, followed by two police cars. It barrels through the intersection.

The driver lays on the horn and hits the brake.

The vehicle pitches sideways and rolls right over the two of them.

Brian has been run over by the vehicle, and Leila is standing, looking at him, crying. The vehicle is damaged beyond recognition.

We see a traffic camera sitting on top of a light post. Zoom to the camera. We go into the iris of it and through the wires to a small room with a display screen.

INT. SMALL DARK ROOM - SAME TIME

TVs on the wall display various charts and graphs. A lone figure stands, watching them all, Black suit, Glasses.

Someone walks in.

VOICE

You need to see this.

The voice is raspy and rough

SUIT MAN

Put it on.

We see the crash from the eye of the camera.

VOICE

It’s about grant sir.

SUIT MAN

Is he taken care of.

VOICE

Yes sir. We got him after a few miles. But it’s not about him.

SUIT MAN

Really?

The camera zooms to see Brian and Leila flattened by the cars.

VOICE

Should I notify Mahkensu about what has happened.

SUIT MAN

No. He doesn’t know it’s our fault. Let him find out about his own family in time.

VOICE

Very well sir.

We hear the source of the voice move off and exit. The grimy clack of business shoes echo.

SUIT MAN

Hmm..

The footage plays and replays on the screen. We see small wisps of smoke on it.

SUIT MAN

Very interesting.

EXT. AN OUTDOOR CAFE - NOON

A cool autumn breeze sweeps through a sidewalk cafe in the middle of a bustling city. Ruffling the blond hair of a 30 something year old man in a suit named ALEC GOFFIN, handsome, greasy, personality like a wet pair of pants.

He is seated across from a 54 year old man named MAHKENSU HEILOS, truthful blue eyes barely above dark bags of age.

MR. GOFFIN

Mahkensu, you know why I brought you here, don’t you?

MR. HEILOS

I know Goffin, I know.

MR. GOFFIN

It’s just standard procedure. Here you are. The customary parting.

A waiter brings Mr. Heilos a coffee, with a large cheese Danish. Mahkensu begins to eat.

MR. HEILOS

35 years, 35.

MR. GOFFIN

It’s not like we’re leaving you out in the cold.

MR. HEILOS

I know. I just thought that I’d know when it was my time. That I could judge my own goddamn expiration date. I’ve been working here since i was 19 for christsake.

MR. GOFFIN

We’ll be arranging for the local job here in a few days, hang tight until then. Goodbye.

MR. HEILOS

(sarcastically)

Thanks for the Danish.

Goffin walks off to a waiting black SUV. Indistinguishable from the rest in this urban city. It drives off.

Goffin finishes another bite of the Danish and throws it in the street in disgust.

MR. HEILOS

Shit.

A Blue Ford GTO with white stripes pulls up right next to Mr. Heilos’s table. A window rolls down. We hear a voice from inside the car.

MALE VOICE

Mahkensu?

MR. HEILOS

What?

EXT. A ROAD - JUST AFTER NOON.

Two sorority girls in a VW bug zip happily down the road. Bags in the front of the car suggest a heavy day of mall crawling and shopping.

The one driving is TERI PENDLETON, jet black hair with a tan complexion.

The one in the passenger seat it LEILA HEILOS, daughter of Mahkensu Heilos, short blonde.

TERI

So Brandy was telling me the other day about putting on this party for Halloween.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh really? Sounds like fun to me.

TERI

I hoped you’d think that. The only problem is that we’d have to let all the Frat’s on campus come over, and you know how those stupid--

SLOW MOTION:As the VW goes through an intersection it is RAMMED on the front left by a black SUV. Teri is jerked back by her seatbelt.

Leila is unlucky though, as she had not been previously wearing her seatbelt, we see her body rush towards the cracking windshield, death imminent.

However, her body turns into a Murky black SMOKE! Flowing through the cracks in the windshield at a viscous rate, over the hood of the car and out in front of the car.

NORMAL TIME: The smoke collects up into the figure of Leila, who rushes to Teri’s aid, making sure she is okay.

The Driver of the SUV speeds off into the heart of the city, fleeing the scene.

LEILA HEILOS

Teri! Teri! Can you hear me?

TERI

Ugh, I’m fine Leila.

LEILA HEILOS

Okay, I’m calling the police.

She whips out her telephone.

EXT. THE HEILOS HOME - LATER

Teri’s car limps up to the front of a two story apartment. Not the best nor worst part of town. Leila gets out.

LEILA HEILOS

Good luck with your dad Teri.

TERI

It wasn’t my fault that guy ran that red light.

LEILA HEILOS

I just wish I’d gotten the plate number.

TERI

Yea, but my car’s still drivable. I think.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh, well, take care.

TERI

G’night.

Teri’s VW stumbles off, while Leila walks up the stairs of the complex. It’s a two story with very gothic architecture. An alley at the left side of the house complete with fire escape always has someone’s trash below it.

Leila walks inside the home.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME - LATER

The family, which consists of Leila plus MR and MRS Heilos, is having dinner together.

MRS. HEILOS

How was your day dear?

MR. HEILOS

Bad.

MRS. HEILOS

Oh, why’s that?

MR. HEILOS

I got fired.

MRS. HEILOS

Oh...

Leila looks up from her plate.

MRS. HEILOS

After working for them so long? And your retirement was almost here.

MR. HEILOS

I know.

MRS. HEILOS

Can’t you file with the Airport labor union?

MR. HEILOS

Nope. Already tried.

MRS. HEILOS

My goodness.

EXT. SOME ROOFTOP - SOMEWHERE - NIGHT

Leila stands on a rooftop, overlooking the city. Black leather ass-kicking pants, white tank top, and suspenderesque gun holsters complete with matching white anodized45’s, The eye of Osiris on each of their creamy handles. Her hair is Short blonde and flipped out to show creamy facial makeup with a black eye of RA over her right eye. Desperate blue eyes peer out upon the city.

Her name is NOIR.

A gunshot in the distance. She runs off the rooftop, jumping. Her body starts to bleed off curly thick black smoke as she falls. Enveloping her.

The smoke touches the ground and she leaps out of it, over a brick wall to the city zoo.

EXT. A ZOO - SOMEWHERE - NIGHT

She ducks down behind some trees to look at her situation. A mob has gathered in front of one of the zoo cages.

She walks over to it. Pushing people aside to see what is in the cage.

It’s a woman. 30’s, bald, wearing a black jumpsuit. Laying on a cross shaped table. She is strapped down.

WOMAN

Help me. Help.. Me...

Magically, a series of buttons on a keypad near the table are pushed. The table releases, but the woman isn’t there anymore.

The crowd starts roaring at Noir instead.

ANGRY MAN

She’s one of them!

BOY

FREAK!

MOTHER

You tell ‘er son.

ANGRY MAN 2

FREAK!

MOTHER

You did this!

ANGRY MAN

It’s all your fault.

BOY

FREAK!

NOIR

I'm not... I swear.

ANGRY MAN

Get her!!!

The crowd starts pummeling her, bruising her, battering her. Someone takes out a gun and shoots.

Noir is wounded in the stomach, bleeding.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - NIGHT

Leila jumps from her bed with a start. It was only a nightmare.

She turns on her lamp, to a white piece of paper and pencil. She tries unsuccessfully to draw a picture of the woman in her dreams.

She turns back off the lamp. Tries to go back to sleep.

She can’t.

Instead, she wanders out of her room, and down the stairs of the house.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME

She walks into the kitchen. Looks into the fridge. Grabs something to drink. Moves over to the table.

Her father is already seated there.

MR. HEILOS

Tough night Leila?

LEILA HEILOS

Bad Nightmare.

MR. HEILOS

Heh, I remember when you were a little kid and had nightmares.

LEILA HEILOS

I remember too. I’d wake you up and we’d play checkers to take my mind off of it.

MR. HEILOS

And I never beat you.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh please dad, you let me win.. I think I'm old enough to come to terms with that.

MR. HEILOS

(laughing)

Oh really?

LEILA HEILOS

Yes dad. I'm in college now.. Remember?

MR. HEILOS

That would explain where you disappear off to every day.

They laugh. Beat.

LEILA HEILOS

What are you going to do now that the airport security laid you off?

MR. HEILOS

Well, I don’t know honey... I thought I might try to get a job with the police station here.

LEILA HEILOS

Okay dad. Goodnight.

MR. HEILOS

Goodnight Leila.

She moves off to her room.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME - MORNING.

SUPER: ‘ A Week Later’

Leila is sitting and eating breakfast with her mother.

MRS. HEILOS

How did you sleep hon?

LEILA HEILOS

Okay I guess. It was a rough night.

MRS. HEILOS

Why’s that?

LEILA HEILOS

Schoolwork is a bear this time of year, midterms and all.

MRS. HEILOS

Oh. It must be nice, going to school.

LEILA HEILOS

Yea mom, I love it, me and the sisters have lots of fun.

MRS. HEILOS

I remember when I met your father, he was so charming. He had just gotten back from his stint in Russia. In college on the GI bill. He was adventurous then.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - LATER

She is cleaning out her closet. She opens an old steamer trunk. Revealing news-paper clippings, various old trophies, odds and ends. She pulls out a black and white photo of a man and a woman together, flips it over.

It reads: “Constantine Johnson, 27, and Hathor Heilos, 1936”

The woman is the one from her dreams.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - LATER

Leila is on her computer searching for “Constantine Johnson”, “Hathor Heilos”. Finds an old Nazi war casualty list, it has his name in it, but not hers.

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - A RESTAURANT - DAY

Leila walks into the restaurant’s kitchen to get her order, goes through double doors.

We see CHAD SNIDER, computer geek, the boy next door. His speech implies an inward rapidity of though, although his less than graceful nature would say otherwise.

He almost FUMBLES a bowl of soup, but manages to recover it in time to hand it to Leila.

CHAD

So, how’s it going?

LEILA HEILOS

Oh you know, I always get old men with bobby socks who think that they are Ace Ventura or something..

CHAD

Alll-righty then.

LEILA HEILOS

A for effort, but about a C for execution.

CHAD

Fair enough.

LEILA HEILOS

Hey, I was wondering--

CHAD

--I'd love to, and as a matter of fact, I thought it was about time. I hear the Museum downtown has a really cool Halloween exhibit up.

Leila tries in vain to interject.

CHAD

I know, I know, a guy who likes museums! Smart and good looking, and single and--

LEILA HEILOS

--Well, that’s not exactly what I was asking. I was thinking more along the lines of helping me find out about someone.

CHAD

Oh. That kind of wondering.

LEILA HEILOS

You see, I found this picture the other day. Of this woman. I need to know who she is.

CHAD

A mystery egh? Well, I'll see what I can dig up. What’s the name?

LEILA HEILOS

Hathor Heilos, and.. Uh.. Constantine Johnson.

He writes them down

LEILA HEILOS

Thanks Chad, I owe you.

She winks at him and takes the soup from the kitchen.

“CLANG!”

Chad stumbles over something in the back.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME - THAT AFTERNOON

Mr. Heilos is sitting at the kitchen, reading the paper. Leila walks in.

MR. HEILOS

How was your day Leila?

LEILA HEILOS

It was fine. You?

MR. HEILOS

Slow. I'm still looking for work.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh, okay... Hey dad. I was wondering..

MR. HEILOS

Yes honey?

He puts down the paper.

LEILA HEILOS

I found this old picture in my closet. While i was cleaning out some things. Any idea who it is?

She gives him the picture.

MR. HEILOS

Where’d you get this again Leila?

LEILA HEILOS

It was in my closet.

MR. HEILOS

Oh, I’m sure it’s nothing.

He puts it in his breast pocket.

LEILA HEILOS

Um. Can i have it back then.

MR. HEILOS

No.

LEILA HEILOS

But if its--

MR. HEILOS

--Leila. It’s probably just some picture that the moving company got mixed up with our stuff when we moved into the new house. It’s been a good while since you cleaned that room of yours too. So god knows whose this is. Happy?

She hesitates. Her phone rings. She answers the call.

CHAD (V.O.)

I’ve got something for you.

LEILA HEILOS

OK, be right over.

EXT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE NEXT DAY

Leila rings the doorbell.

LEILA HEILOS (V.O.)

If he wasn’t going to tell me. Then I was going to find out on my own.

Chad opens the door.

CHAD

You better come take a look at this.

They walk inside.

INT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE SAME TIME

Conduit and wires corrupt the hallways, a fire Marshall's worst nightmare.

They walk into his room, a beehive of technological wonder. Multiple computer displays and security monitors show information on everything in his house.

LEILA HEILOS

(absent)

Whoa.

CHAD

I know. I haven't cleaned this place in weeks, normally I go on the: “can’t see the floor” rule. But I think I can go one more day.

LEILA HEILOS

So what do you have?

They Sit.

CHAD

Well, as of last night I just had some standard marriage licences, American, British, Aussie. Standard world war two stuff, could be anybody really. But then I ran a facial pattern match on Police and Federal records...And got this.

We see a screen containing information on Hathor with a current picture of her.

CHAD

Naturally I thought “convict”, but I cracked her CIA file, and uncle Sam though differently.

He taps a few keys, we see her CIA records:

History: captured October 13th, 1969.

Pre-internment: Married to Constantine Johnson. Mother of Mahkensu Heilos, born January 1969. Additional Information pending.

Confirmed: Transfer of additional information scheduled on October 26th, Midnight. Russians will meet with Intel at Rendezvous point red 3.

LEILA HEILOS

So she’s my... Grandmother...?

CHAD

I’d say so. How many Mahkensus do you know of?

LEILA HEILOS

Just dad.

CHAD

And she’s been interned by the CIA for some reason. It’s says there that even THEY don't know all her history. See?

He points.

LEILA HEILOS

Can you find out where point Red 3 is?

CHAD

Hang on a sec. This 128 bit encryption is a bear on the processors.

LEILA HEILOS

OK

Chad taps a couple of keys and we see a hyperlink of the NYC bus routes.

CHAD

How silly of me.

LEILA HEILOS

Harlem...

EXT. HARLEM - AN ALLEY - THAT NIGHT

A black SUV is deliberately parked in a sideways position on one entrance of an alley, blocking all viewers from the street.

Three men stand beside it, viewing the alley, one of them holding a briefcase cuffed to his hand. Their black suits tell us they are CIA agents.

A tan oldsmobile enters the alley from the other direction, parks, and out come 3 suited men. All of them Ex - KGB associates. 2 of the men are holding Uzi’s in a cocky fashion suitable solely for thugs and amateurs.

The last Ex-KGB steps out, we see he is holding a brown case. a CIA and the Ex - KGB with the briefcase move to each other, meeting in the center of the alley.

CIA

Do you have the information?

EX - KGB

The money.

CIA

The info?

EX - KGB

Does it look like I'm holding my lunchbox?

SOMETHING MOVES on the rooftops and immediately both sides are on guard. Weapons drawn.

A shadow moves on the other rooftop, the men whip around.

EX - KGB

You set us up.

CIA

With who? The CIA..? The Briefcase. Now.

The EX - KGB boss snaps his fingers and..

Two more AK armed men get our of the oldsmobile, seemingly clowns out of a volkswagon. They are dressed as business men. Much more professional than the two men before.

EX - KGB

You promised us amnesty.

The streetlights go out with a “pop”.

A KGB HENCHMEN

Wha? What the..

But he is cut off. He SLUMPS to the ground, for no reason, with a vacant expression.

A black puff of SMOKE is all that remains around him. Blood starts to trickle out of two holes in his neck.

The CIA men point their firearms towards the rooftops.

EX - KGB

Get them!

Shooting ensues. The two groups mow each other down with withering fire.

Everyone is a bloody heap except for One of the CIA. He FRANTICALLY grabs the suitcase in EX - KGB’s deathgrip. It won’t budge.

He shoots Ex - KGB in the hand. Severing the brief case from it’s former owner. Grabs it up.

He jumps in the SUV. Flashing lights in his vehicle illuminate the massacre around him. Picks up a radio in the car.

CIA 2

Man down! I repeat. Man down! We’re At..

There is a thump and a rock of his car. He drops the radio and gets out of the vehicle. A puff of black smoke rises above his back hood.

He draws his weapon, backing up in panic. Right into our heroine.

With one swift motion she SWEEPS his feet out from under him, launching his body into the air, and KICKS his sideways figure into the SUV, LURCHING the Vehicle right into the Street, tumbling in a corkscrew.

The alley is dark.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM

A puff of black smoke floats through Noir’s 2nd floor window. We see her walk through the smoke, appearing as a ghost would.

She lays down the brief case on her bed.

Walking towards her vanity, she unstraps her holsters, letting them flop down about her waist. After inspecting herself in the mirror, She moves to the bathroom and washes her face in the sink, eye makeup running down the drain.

We hear her parents shouting in the background. She looks into the mirror at her wet face.

She turns back to the briefcase she has acquired. Opening it. She pulls out information on Hathor, multiple pictures, and two pieces of parchment with the symbol of Ankh prominently displayed divided between the two of them, along with other Glyphs.

It’s not even half of the information in the case.

She takes out Hathor’s file, closes the case.

We see Hathor’s face from the dream flash in and out.

INT. TRAMMEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE, A HALLWAY. - THE NEXT DAY

Leila is walking down the hallway, books in hand, dressed in typical Preppy fashion. She moves deftly towards her first class, entering the room and taking her seat nonchalantly.

The teacher is Alec Goffin.

MR. GOFFIN

All right, settle down already.

He puts a transparency about ancient Egypt on the overhead.

MR. GOFFIN

Since Halloween time is near, I thought that you would like to take a break from the civil war to hear the...history behind the costumes you will be donning Saturday.

The class is generally relieved.

MR. GOFFIN

Vampire lore goes as far back as ancient Egypt. One myth states that Ra, the embodiment of the sun, angered at man’s attempt to overthrow the gods, unleashed a force upon the earth against which nothing could prevail...Naturally, This force was a bloodthirsty woman goddess called Sekhmet...which goes against traditional view that most vampires are men...this is historically untrue.

A girl raises her hand in the back. She wears a DLS sorority shirt. Goffin points to her. Her name is BRANDY.

BRANDY

Are you saying that there are vampires in history?

MR. GOFFIN

My dear, if many can easily believe that Jesus existed, can’t we make the stretch to include an individual such as Vlad the Impailer?...Now. Sekhmet was eventually tricked by Ra to stop total annihilation of humanity.

Transparency switch.

MR. GOFFIN

Often she was portrayed as a lion headed woman. Symbolizing the destructive powers of Ra--

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THAT DAY

The restaurant is slow today. Leila is cleaning one of the tables. Chad comes over and sits.

CHAD

So?

LEILA HEILOS

So... what?

CHAD

What was it? Did you find anything out?

LEILA HEILOS

It was nothing big.. I just asked them if they had seen the woman in the picture before.. And they hadn’t. So that was that.

CHAD

That’s disappointing. I was hoping you’d at least get arrested.

LEILA HEILOS

What? Why?

CHAD

Do you call your parents when you’ve been arrested by the CIA? Nope. You call in someone whose gonna ass and take names!

LEILA HEILOS

Like who?

CHAD

(sigh, announcer-like)

And it’s another sad strikeout for Chad Snider.

(other announcer)

That’s right Irv, he’s been at bat multiple times now, but hasn’t hit anything..

(walking off, first announcer)

How true, no hits! Not even hit on.. Hahahahah.

Leila rolls her eyes, continues cleaning.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - LATER

Leila is sitting on her bed, finishing cleaning her pistols. She wipes down the clip and pops it in. There is a knock at the door. She scrambles to stow her arms in her dresser.

LEILA HEILOS

Coming!

MR. HEILOS

It’s your father.

She opens the door.

MR. HEILOS

Where were you last night?

LEILA HEILOS

(surely)

I had a study session with Brandy last night, sorry I forgot to tell you.

MR. HEILOS

Oh..I guess that’s okay, when did you get in? I didn’t even hear the door.

LEILA HEILOS

Sometime around 2 or 3...

MR. HEILOS

You need to start getting more sleep. You’ll never pass history if you keep staying up late like this. Why, I remember when I was your age...

LEILA HEILOS

You had to walk to school 3 miles in the snow uphill both ways.. Yes. Yes. I know dad, any other cliche’s you want to throw out there before you have to go?

MR. HEILOS

Not especially.. Oh, wait, eat your vegetables.. Look before you leap.. Better to end well than to begin well?

LEILA HEILOS

Thanks for the tip... How’s Mom?

MR. HEILOS

Fine.

LEILA HEILOS

I heard you two shouting downstairs this morning. It woke me up.

MR. HEILOS

It’s just because I got laid off, it’ll all be fine. You’re mother and I have had rougher times. We’ll be fine.

LEILA HEILOS

Right..

MR. HEILOS

Well, I'm sure from the looks of your desk that you have some homework or something you need to work on.

MR. HEILOS(cont'd)Just wanted to see how you were doing.. Say.. Did you hear anything about that Shoot-out last night?

LEILA HEILOS

No. Tell me about it.

MR. HEILOS

Someone got into a firefight last night in Harlem. You need to watch where you’re going that late at night.

LEILA HEILOS

I will dad. You don’t need to worry about me.

MR. HEILOS

Good.

He leaves and shuts the door.

EXT. A BLOOD BANK - THAT DAY

An unmarked black SUV pulls into a parking space. A man in a leather jacket gets out of the car and takes off his glasses.

It’s Alec Goffin.

He moves to the door of the institution.

INT. A BLOOD BANK

Goffin walks up to the help counter, he’s nonchalant about the whole thing.

WOMAN

May I help you?

MR. GOFFIN

I'm here to make a withdrawal.

WOMAN

Right that way.

Points to a door behind the desk.

MR. GOFFIN

Thank you.

He moves over to the door and opens it with a key. He steps inside and slams the door shut.

Immediately he is subjected to numerous tests of unknown nature, clearly military intelligence at it’s most intricate and precise form.

The wall in front of him swings upward.

The attached room is abuzz with activity. Papers float about. A beehive of Intel.

We see that one of the men is leaning nochilantly against the wall, arms crossed, looking at Goffin.

He is Agent FRANKSON, younger than Goffin, a swashbuckling, “A” type personality exudes from his military leather jacket.

FRANKSON

It’s about time you got here, I thought that the secretary got confused and actually made you donate.

MR. GOFFIN

Very funny Frankson. What’s the ruckus about?

They start walking towards a corner office.

FRANKSON

We lost 3 men in the attack last night. We were making an exchange with one of our contacts when we were fired on. By their men. After the smoke clears, everyone’s dead, and we’re missing our Intel.

They reach the office, and walk inside, locking the door behind them.

MR. GOFFIN

So what’s it to me?

FRANKSON

We took a closer look at one of the guys, and this is what we found.

Frankson shows goffin various polariods of the scene. One of the men has distinct bite marks on his neck.

MR. GOFFIN

Whoa.

FRANKSON

I know Alec. I know. What do you make of it.

MR. GOFFIN

I thought we had a handle on this type of situation.

FRANKSON

Yea... We recovered multiple 1911 colt 45 casings on the rooftops. My theory is that these guys bought themselves some insurance. Maybe a couple no good guns for hire.

MR. GOFFIN

Who did you say these guys were?

FRANKSON

I didn’t, but if you happen to ask, we’re dealing with standard ex-KGB types... Do you think we have Transylvanians running around the city? You’re the only one I thought would know.

MR. GOFFIN

Could very well be.

FRANKSON

We might need you to come back full time again.

MR. GOFFIN

Can’t you call Washington for this one? They’ll know who to get.

FRANKSON

You know good and well what this division is doing Alec...We can’t do that..Especially for this kind of problem. It’s a strictly internal affair.

MR. GOFFIN

Right.

INT. THE DLS SORORITY HOUSE - AFTERNOON

The girls are sitting around in the kitchen, studying, watching television.

BRANDY

How about that bogus stuff today in Goffin’s class, real retarded.

CHRISTY

Yea. I can’t believe he believes in vampires and stuff.

TERI

Maybe he’s into that kind of thing. You know, BDSM or something.

BRANDY

Hey, for his body, I just might try some of that stuff. Whatever it is.

CHRISTY

You mean you don’t know what BDSM is?

LEILA HEILOS

Seriously Brandy. You should keep yourself well read on that type of material. You never know when you might need to know.

BRANDY

Oh, please. You’re one to talk, you barely have a D in that class. Don’t tell me I have to study.

LEILA HEILOS

History of the world and BDSM are totally different. I mean, I'm not going to have anyone quiz me on the ancient Aztecs while we’re having sex.

BRANDY

Well I'm not going to be writing my history midterm paper on Whips and Chains now, am I?

CHRISTY

I thought you didn’t know what BDSM was.

BRANDY

I might.

Laugh.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - NIGHT

She is at her mirror, silently putting on her typical Egyptian facial makeup. Fighting is clearly heard downstairs

EXT. A ROOFTOP - NIGHT

Noir is sitting on a rooftop, legs drawn up against her body, clutching herself to keep warm. She is looking over the city.

NOIR (V.O.)

Why do I keep this up, everynight... It’s not like i have super hearing or anything. I should be home studying. I can’t wait till mom and dad hear that my GPA might not be high enough to keep my scholarship. They’ll flip. And that’ll be great, more fuel for their fire. I wonder if dad thought I bought that bull about them fighting because of his job. Yea, total bull.

An explosion off in the distance.

NOIR

Just when I thought I could go home and sleep.

She shoves herself off the building. Falling through the air, her body turns into wafting black curls of smoke that settle gently on the pavement. She emerges, running towards the explosion.

INT. A DESERTED BUILDING - NIGHT

FIRING and EXPLOSIONS are heard within. The KGB hideout is being attacked by a CIA raid, which has gone horribly wrong.

Goffin, Frankson, and two others are in the remaining CIA group, making one final run for the door. KGB are firing from embanked positions.

EXT. A DESERTED BUILDING - NIGHT

Noir lands on the corner of an adjoined building. 4 agents are running out of the hideout, being ambushed by KGB who have flanked them to the right. Goffin and Frankson lead the group.

MR. GOFFIN

RIGHT! RIGHT! RIGHT!

Goffin and Frankson get into the vehicle and start it up while the two other agents issue cover fire, nailing multiple Ex - KGB’s.

The SUV roars to life, and the other two jump into the back of the moving vehicle as it takes off.

Noir realizes that she must follow them. Running and jumping from roof to roof towards the lot’s exit with superhuman strength.

CHASE SCEEN

The agents are going full speed as they near the edge of the building’s parking lot.

A bump on the roof of the vehicle.

The driver reacts, slamming on the brakes. Noir is launched off the roof and onto the pavement, tumbling across the asphalt.

The car sits. Watching her. Revving the engine.

FRANKSON

What do we have here?

Noir looks up at the car. Stands up. Slightly cut. Pulls the Duallies out of their holsters. Ready.

FRANKSON

What does she think she’s doing? Dumb fuck.

MR. GOFFIN

We don’t have time for this.

Frankson puts the car into gear. The SUV squeals its tires in takeoff.

SLOW MOTION. Noir fires at the windshield of the SUV. Bullets richocet off. Closer and closer the car comes.

Finally one of the bullets PIERCES the windshield. The Car is almost on her.

More bullets. Opening up a basketball size hole in the glass.

There is no time. The car is right up against her legs.

She VAPORIZES, A black cloud of smoke drifting from the hood to the windshield and into the cab of the vehicle.

MR. GOFFIN

What the??

NORMAL TIME. The smoke materializes in the back of the SUV. The Two guards in the back seat are on edge, looking around the back.

She lunges out of the shadows, biting one in the jugular, simultaneously snapping the neck of the other with her free arm.

Goffin turns around and decides to redecorate. Spraying the back of the car in lead, KILLING the bitten agent. Noir ducks behind the Back seat, shielding herself.

FRANKSON

We got to get the fuck out of here!

MR. GOFFIN

(steady)

Just drive.

She looks up, recognizing the voice.

Goffin flips a switch in the vehicle, a lexan panel shoots up between the forward compartment and the back.

MR. GOFFIN

Take a left here, it should get us back quicker.

The vehicle careens around Downtown. Noir opens the back double doors. Craws up to the roof.

Frankson sees her in the rearview mirror.

FRANKSON

Same trick twice honey? I don’t think so.

He lowers the Lexan Panel.

MR. GOFFIN

What do you think you’re do---

SLOW MOTION. Frankson slams on the breaks. Goffin’s seat belt yanks him back.

Noir is almost thrown from the top of the SUV. She Manages to hang onto the roof rack with one hand. Flying through the air, hanging on by fingertips.

NOIR

(screaming)

YAAAAH!

Falls on the broken windshield, it shatters completely now. She dangles there, facing the passengers of the vehicle.

Noir sees Goffin. Goffin raises his gun. She’s stunned. He fires at her head.

The bullet travels at rapid speed. Nearing her forehead.

It penetrates her skin, which is really nothing but a smoke afterimage of her. The black cloud billows through the window and straight out the back doors.

The smoke settles on the middle of an intersection, the Ravaged SUV turns the corner, blasting off into the night.

A light wind comes and ushers a newspaper along the street. Taking along with it the smoke that covers our heroine, who is standing, staring towards the vehicle.

The wind comes again, and blows the smoke image of Noir off into the night.

END OF CHASE SCENE

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - THAT NIGHT

She is putting away her pistols, sees a nasty gash on her shoulder from her tumble off the car. Checks it out in the mirror. Opens a Drawer in her dresser.

The briefcase. She takes it and puts it on her bed, examining the contents that she neglected before.

Files of every vampire that ever came through Russia, some in Russian, some in English. She examines them.

We see Goffin on file. He is a half vampire.

INT. THE HALLWAY - THE NEXT DAY

Leila is walking towards Goffin’s class. Teri stops her in the hall.

TERI

Oh my gosh Leila. What happened to you?

Leila checks herself over, bruises on her legs, cuts on her arms, the Gash on her shoulder.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh, don’t worry about me. I went to the gym last night and got stuck in the wrong class, so I had to just grit and bear it.

TERI

Rugby? Boxing? Professional Wrestling?

LEILA HEILOS

Oh, just a little judo.

TERI

Damn girl. You’re tough, maybe if you concentrated on your classes half as much as--.

LEILA HEILOS

--I better get going to class. I'll be late.

TERI

Sure.

Leila marches off.

INT. GOFFIN’S CLASSROOM - LATER

The class is clearing out after the day’s lesson.

Leila walks up to the front of the room, slaps a file down on his desk.

MR. GOFFIN

What the--?

LEILA HEILOS

--We need to talk.

MR. GOFFIN

The midterm?

LEILA HEILOS

You wish.

INT. THE SCHOOL CAFETERIA - LATER

Goffin and Leila are sitting together at a booth at the back of the cafeteria. There is no one around. Goffin is leafing through the folder.

MR. GOFFIN

So how did you get these?

LEILA HEILOS

I know a guy.

Goffin closes the folder.

MR. GOFFIN

Really... So... How can I help you Leila.

LEILA HEILOS

You can start by telling me why you raided that place last night.

MR. GOFFIN

Why should I tell you anything?

LEILA HEILOS

Because if you don’t, I'll give the CIA these files they want so badly.

She taps the files on the desk with her fingers.

MR. GOFFIN

(hesitates, bluffing)

So you know about what’s going on between the CIA and the vampire brotherhood.

LEILA HEILOS

Enlighten me.

MR. GOFFIN

About 30 years ago the government started enlisting vampires.. Gathering them. Members of the flock started vanishing. Leaving without a trace. One day we finally found what was being hidden from us.

LEILA HEILOS

What?

MR. GOFFIN

There were rumors of Russian experiments that had been moved to America... crazy rumors, but they were true... They were using us to power their machines.

LEILA HEILOS

That’s ludicrous. You’re lying to me.

She grabs at the folder he’s been leafing though. He puts his hand down, stopping her.

MR. GOFFIN

Hang on... Why are you doing this? What do you want?...You know I could easily kill you here and now.

LEILA HEILOS

Really?

SLOW MOTION. Goffin pulls under his suit, whipping out a silenced pistol. He FIRES.

Leila instantly turns to smoke. The smoke moves to his side of the table. She reappears, subdues him, holding his own gun against his head.

MR. GOFFIN

And the true nature of the beast is revealed.

We see the seat she was sitting in an instant ago. There’s a SLEEPING DART stuck in it.

LEILA HEILOS

Asshole.

MR. GOFFIN

One can never be too careful.

She gets back up and moves over to where she was sitting. Plucking the dart off the back of the chair.

MR. GOFFIN

So what are you? Pure? Turned? Half?

LEILA HEILOS

I was hoping you could tell me. You seem to be the resident expert on the subject so far.

She digs around in her bag, pulls out Hathor’s file

LEILA HEILOS

Here.

Throws it on the table. Goffin picks it up and starts reading.

MR. GOFFIN

Well then...

LEILA HEILOS

I think she’s my grandmother, and it says there that she’s a pure blood. I don’t think I am though.

He points to the paper.

MR. GOFFIN

You see this symbol here. That means that she is being held at one of their facilities..

LEILA HEILOS

What?

MR. GOFFIN

They keep them held in underground facilities. Hooked to Miles of tubing containing human blood. For what you ask? For power.

She gives him a sour look.

LEILA HEILOS

Wait, let me guess, vampires have mind controlling abilities that make everyone in the city vote Republican.

MR. GOFFIN

Not far from the truth Leila. Most vampires have a certain level of psychic abilities. When harnessed correctly it produces massive amounts of energy. Your grandmother is being held in maximum security, via cognitive stasis, to power the city. She knows what is happening to her, but is paralyzed to do anything against it.

A skeptical look.

MR. GOFFIN

We’ve been trying to find the prisons for years now. I have relatives that were taken.

Leila takes out another file from her pack. It’s a map of the prisons.

LEILA HEILOS

I guess that explains this.

He takes the file from her.

MR. GOFFIN

But still. This is the CIA were talking about. It’s not Chucky Cheese, you can’t get your hand stamped and go in and out. We’d have to have an inside man for the doors.

Chad walks in, slightly winded. Oblivious.

CHAD

Hey Leila, sorry I'm late, came here as fast i could. Oh, I'm sorry.. I didn’t mean to..

Goffin puts a hand under the coat.

MR. GOFFIN

Who’s he?

LEILA HEILOS

My backup.

MR. GOFFIN

Really?

He relaxes again.

LEILA HEILOS

I thought I might need help taking on someone like you..

MR. GOFFIN

Not much of a calvary.

CHAD

Better watch it bubs. I can have your printer spitting gay porn out to your room twice a day.

LEILA HEILOS

Did you have to bring gay porn into the conversation?

CHAD

Gay porn just creeps up on you--

LEILA HEILOS

--Maybe from behind.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME - THAT NIGHT

The three of them are eating dinner together.

MR. HEILOS

How was your day dear?

MRS. HEILOS

Fine. You?

MR. HEILOS

Fine.

The silence. They’d be better off eating in different rooms. Leila gets up and leaves quietly.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - LATER

Leila is on her bed, staring at the ceiling. The fan creates a shadow on the bed as it spins lazily overhead.

There is a ring on her phone. She answers.

LEILA HEILOS

Hello?

CHAD (O.S.)

Hey Leila, what was that all about today?

LEILA HEILOS

How’d you get this number?

CHAD (O.S.)

Computers are a wonderful thing.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh.

CHAD (O.S.)

So?

LEILA HEILOS

So what?

CHAD (O.S.)

Leila, what’s wrong?

LEILA HEILOS

Nothing...

CHAD (O.S.)

What is it?

LEILA HEILOS

It’s my parents chad. They never talk to each other.

CHAD (O.S.)

Why’s that?

LEILA HEILOS

(difficult)

I think they’re getting a divorce.

CHAD (O.S.)

Oh...

LEILA HEILOS

Yea.

CHAD (O.S.)

Well, if you need to talk to anyone about it, I'm your guy. My parents divorced each other 2 years ago... It wasn’t a walk in the park.

LEILA HEILOS

Thanks Chad.

CHAD (O.S.)

Anytime. I think we could discuss it over dinner if you’d like.

LEILA HEILOS

(laughing softly)

Nice try Casanova.

CHAD (O.S.)

Well. A guy’s gotta hope.

LEILA HEILOS

Listen mister, you have to be a bit more timely with your propositions...It’s not right to catch a girl off guard like that.

CHAD (O.S.)

(misquoting)

Okay, hang on. Let me write that down... time propositions... Catch girls offgaurd. Okay... Anything else?

She laughs.

CHAD (O.S.)

So what was up with that today?

LEILA HEILOS

Chad... This... What I'm on to...I don’t know if you should be in on it.

CHAD (O.S.)

Come on Leila, you know I'm up for anything.

LEILA HEILOS

Look, I'm going to need your help. I just don’t know how involved you should get. What I need to do is dangerous.

CHAD (O.S.)

Anything for a lady, but before I fully commit I need to know just how deep into the CIA you want to go.

LEILA HEILOS

Deep. Really deep.

CHAD (O.S.)

Okay... And seriously, if you need someone to talk to about your parents--

LEILA HEILOS

--Call you.

CHAD

Right. I'll have a girl movie primed and ready for you to watch.

LEILA HEILOS

Alright then, I'll see you tomorrow night then.

CHAD (O.S.)

Really?

LEILA HEILOS

Yea, we have to work. Remember Romeo?

Yelling breaks out downstairs.

CHAD (O.S.)

Oh yea.

LEILA HEILOS

See ya.

CHAD (O.S.)

Bye.

They hang up.

LEILA HEILOS

Time...to go.

She moves over to her dresser, pulls out her pistols, sets them on top with a “clank”.

EXT. NOIR’S ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

Noir climbs out of her window and drops down to the alley below. Running into the steaming city lights.

We see the rooftop next to hers. Someone in full body camouflage has been watching her through binoculars.

INT. A BLOOD BANK - THE NEXT MORNING.

Goffin is sitting on the edge of a cluttered desk in the corner office. Frankson paces around.

FRANKSON

Okay. So what do we know?

MR. GOFFIN

She has the case.

FRANKSON

But we don’t know what exactly is in the case.

MR. GOFFIN

Could just be files. Could be the Ankh of resurrection.

FRANKSON

Then why don’t we just take her down John Wayne?

MR. GOFFIN

Too high profile. The media would be all over it. We’d be caught with our pants down.

FRANKSON

Yea. After a raid like last time, we can’t afford it. You’re right.

MR. GOFFIN

Plus, we might damage the Ankh.

FRANKSON

It’s possible.

MR. GOFFIN

Then there’s only one solution, we get her to give the case to us.

FRANKSON

And how are we going to do that.

MR. GOFFIN

(sarcastic)

I AM the leader of the underground.

FRANKSON

She bought that?

MR. GOFFIN

Yea, I guess she’s been to the movies one too many times.

Frankson laughs.

MR. GOFFIN

I’ve even given her some vital information. But she doesn't trust me completely.

FRANKSON

Then you’ll just have to...

(throwing it out there)

...save her from certain death and destruction

A knowing look comes across Goffin’s face.

MR. GOFFIN

The lines in here are clean right?

FRANKSON

Of course.

MR. GOFFIN

I have some friends to call, they might want to know where their money is.

INT. THE CAFETERIA - LATER

Leila is seated, eating with her friends. They are all typical preppy and pretty.

BRANDY

So girls, are we all set for the costume party?

CHRISTY

I know I am, I have my nurse outfit ready, the boys should be thrilled.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh come on Christy, you know that the guys in Togas are going to have to sit down the whole party because of your costume.

Laughs

CHRISTY

Oh please Leila, have you seen Teri's costume yet?

LEILA HEILOS

No. Teri?

TERI

Um... I'm coming as a streaker.

LEILA HEILOS

What?!?

TERI

I'll have a trenchcoat on.

BRANDY

Yea, but not much else.

Laughs. Goffin walks over to Leila.

MR. GOFFIN

Excuse me Leila, may I speak with you?

LEILA HEILOS

Sure... Be right back girls.

They walk over to the side of the cafeteria.

LEILA HEILOS

What?

MR. GOFFIN

I thought you should know that they are watching you.

Leila crosses her arms.

LEILA HEILOS

And who would that be?

MR. GOFFIN

The CIA of course. A price has been put out on your head for interfering in their matters... Twice.

LEILA HEILOS

(bluffing)

Oh really?

MR. GOFFIN

I'll assign some of my best men to watch out for you.

LEILA HEILOS

No thanks.

MR. GOFFIN

What?

LEILA HEILOS

I want them to watch me.

MR. GOFFIN

Really?

LEILA HEILOS

(bluffing)

I know they’ve been watching me, because I've been watching them.

MR. GOFFIN

Well then, I'm sure you know that they have hired some of the best Russian hit men then.

LEILA HEILOS

I’ve been chilling screwdrivers in my fridge for them...Alec.

MR. GOFFIN

...Good. And another thing. Take a look at these files I found when you have a chance. You’ll thank me.

He hands her a manila folder.

LEILA HEILOS

I bet.

They part company.

BRANDY

What was that about?

LEILA HEILOS

Goffin wants to talk to me about my essay.

BRANDY

(childish)

Oooooh.

CHRISTY

I wouldn’t mind doing an EXTENDED essay with him.

They all laugh wildly at this.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME - THAT NIGHT

We see Leila walk into the kitchen from the front door. She pauses putting down her things as she hears the fight in the opposite room.

MRS. HEILOS

I can’t believe it! You keep this up and you’ll never find another job!

MR. HEILOS

I will! I’ve been waiting for the city police to call me back.

MRS. HEILOS

You put that Resume in with them two weeks ago! You need to try something else.

MR. HEILOS

I know they’re going to call me back, they’ve just been a little bogged down. I went and asked Randy next door last Tuesday.

MRS. HEILOS

He’s just being polite about it. They’re not going to call you, Mahkensu. What are we going to do if Leila’s scholarship falls through, you know she’s having a hard time.

MR. HEILOS

She told me a couple of days ago that she was doing fine.

MRS. HEILOS

(Sarcastic.)

Really?

Leila walks up the stairs and into her room.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - THAT NIGHT

Noir puts on her makeup in the mirror as the fighting downstairs continues.

She takes a break to look through the files Goffin gave her that day. Opens the cover.

It’s her father. He is a CIA.

She is astonished.

Looks through the files.

She hears more yelling downstairs. Her outfit is ready.

She jumps out of her window.

EXT. NOIR’S ALLEY - THE SAME TIME

She falls to the alley below. As if on cue, two large Black vans pull up out of nowhere. Out pops mafia Masterpieces, AK 47’s, Snipers, and a Man in all Black with a Red bandanna on his arm.

He is Black haired and has a Goatee and Horrendous Mutton Chops. A Russian Elvis named CHASLAV. He approaches Noir.

CHASLAV

Well then miss. It looks like we need something you have.

The men clack and aim their guns, ready.

NOIR

I wondered what the party was for.

SLOW MOTION. She pulls the 45’s from her holsters, firing into the opening ahead of her as soon as the barrel is clear from the leather. She fires at guards on the rooftops above. They fall.

She drops her guns, letting them fall to hip level before grabbing them and holstering them again. Her Bullet casings haven't hit the ground yet.

NORMAL TIME.

Laughing, the men are laughing.

Chaslav rips off his bullet holed shirt, revealing body armor.

They all have body armor.

CHASLAV

Try again miss Noir.

NOIR

How did you know my name?

CHASLAV

We know lots about you, little miss.

NOIR

I should probably say something witty here. Right?

Another black van pulls up to the other entrance of the alley.

NOIR

Or was it here when I was supposed to say it?

CHASLAV

Perhaps another time.

Fighting erupts as men pour out from the 3rd van. She is out gunned, but not out maneuvered. Her fighting skills shine brightly.

The battle is turning against her. All of a sudden, out of the steamy shadows emerges GOFFIN. Clad in his Leather Jacket and Military Black pants. He carries a standard M-16 rifle, silenced.

They wreak havoc together. Russians falling from the rooftops. A van explodes somewhere, sending men flying through the air in a aerial waltz of deadly implications.

Chaslav and a few others make it away. Beaten Badly. Noir holsters her weapons.

NOIR

Thanks, I guess.

MR. GOFFIN

How about some of that vodka?

Sour look.

NOIR

It’s a little early to start drinking tonight.

She runs off into the night.

INT. THE CAFETERIA - A LITTLE LATER

Noir is eating with her friends as usual. Goffin calls her over.

LEILA HEILOS

What is it?

MR. GOFFIN

You want to know about your grandmother.

LEILA HEILOS

Yes.

MR. GOFFIN

And I want to protect our kind.

LEILA HEILOS

Yes.

MR. GOFFIN

I’ve talked to some of the flock. Others are willing to help us infiltrate the facility. What do you say?

She thinks for a second, her face wrinkling.

LEILA HEILOS

Okay.

MR. GOFFIN

Good. We will meet tonight, around 7:30.

LEILA HEILOS

Maybe a little later than that. I have to work till 9.

MR. GOFFIN

Where do you work?

LEILA HEILOS

Gemini’s place.

MR. GOFFIN

Then I'll have dinner there around 7:30. Can your friend meet us there?

LEILA HEILOS

Yes.

MR. GOFFIN

Good... Till tonight.

He leaves. She moves back over to her table.

EXT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE NEXT DAY

Leila walks up to the front porch and raises her hand to knock on the door. Chad opens it before she can bring her hand down.

CHAD

Yes?

LEILA HEILOS

Whoa! You scared me.

CHAD

I like to keep an eye out for my friends. So. What brings you here?

LEILA HEILOS

I need info on Goffin.

CHAD

I'll see what I can find.

She walks inside.

INT. A BLOOD BANK - A LITTLE LATER

Frankson and Goffin are talking in the corner office. Frankson is puffing on a cigarette.

MR. GOFFIN

Did they get it?

FRANKSON

We detected the hack about 30 minutes ago.

MR. GOFFIN

And?

FRANKSON

They got the files.

MR. GOFFIN

Good. I take it you’ve already located the proxy and detained it.

FRANKSON

Not exactly.

MR. GOFFIN

What do you mean?

FRANKSON

We’re going to wait.

MR. GOFFIN

Oh...

FRANKSON

Two birds with one stone Alec, it’s more of a challenge that way.

Frankson blows smoke on Goffin’s face, he is unphased.

MR. GOFFIN

You’ll need more than stone to stop one of those birds.

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THAT NIGHT

A busy night. Despite this, Chad and Leila are talking in the kitchen.

CHAD

So Leila, after we meet with these guys tonight and get your grandma out and all. What then?

LEILA HEILOS

I don’t know really, maybe get her out of the city.

CHAD

I was thinking more along the lines of that date you owe me.

LEILA HEILOS

Owe you!?

MANAGER (O.C.)

Hey! Orders are up!

LEILA HEILOS

This isn’t finished by a long shot.

She grabs some plates, moving into the seating area of the restaurant.

While serving a couple on the side, she sees Goffin walk in with Frankson and 2 other agents, Hendrix and Idan.

Hendrix and Idan wear black suits, while Frankson and Goffin wear leather jackets with Black army pants. They sit. Leila walks over to them.

LEILA HEILOS

Good evening gentlemen, what can I get for you.

MR. GOFFIN

I think I'll have the Fettucini Alfredo with a coke.

FRANKSON

And I'll have the Baked Ziti, coke please.

HENDRIX

I think we’ll split a Garlic bread.

IDAN

And cokes too.

LEILA HEILOS

Okay, I'll be right back with your order.

She walks off.

IDAN

(to Hendrix)

Nice one.

HENDRIX

What?

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THE KITCHEN

LEILA HEILOS

Orders Chad.

CHAD

From the CIA?

LEILA HEILOS

Yea. They want Fettuccine Alfredo, Baked Ziti, and Garlic bread, with 4 cokes.

CHAD

That’s it? I was at least hoping for the “this mission if you choose to accept it, is to cook for us..”

LEILA HEILOS

How dangerous! You’re cooking?!? I don’t know if they’ll make it out alive!

CHAD

Hey!

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THE EATERY

The CIA sits discussing plans.

HENDRIX

So what now?

MR. GOFFIN

We let her get into the plant, and we take the plans from her.

FRANKSON

Easy enough.

MR. GOFFIN

Don’t get cocky.

Leila walks back over with the drinks.

LEILA HEILOS

A round of cokes for the lot of you.

MR. GOFFIN

Take a seat.

She grabs a stool and sits.

MR. GOFFIN

Is this friend of yours here yet?

LEILA HEILOS

He’s waiting in the wings. I don’t have much time to--

MR. GOFFIN

--Only a little will be necessary.

LEILA HEILOS

Shoot.

MR. GOFFIN

This wont be easy. The main entrance of the facility is disguised as a toy store. A Simple insertion during hours of operation. But, I'm afraid that the CIA locks can only be accessed during nighttime because of the photosensitive nature of the facility’s contents.

IDAN

Wouldn’t want to burn anyone.

MR. GOFFIN

The section we’re looking to infiltrate is Hexagon level security.

LEILA HEILOS

Hexagon? I thought you guys had Code red, level 5, high alert. That stuff.

FRANKSON

That’s only in movies dear.

MR. GOFFIN

Hexagon level security is a six layer security check. Password, Iris check, Thumb print, Voice check, Weight match, and Sanguinary Positive.

LEILA HEILOS

At least it’s not a septagon security check.

She gets up.

MR. GOFFIN

Why’s that?

LEILA HEILOS

(tartly)

Because I don’t the names of all the dwarves in “Snow White”.

She goes back into the kitchen.

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THE KITCHEN

LEILA HEILOS

Orders.

CHAD

What? Does the CIA want Lasagna now?

LEILA HEILOS

Sorry to disappoint. But it looks like they have a real question this time.

CHAD

Like?

LEILA HEILOS

Are you familiar with Hexagon Security?

Chad looks up, amazed.

CHAD

Hexagon? I thought it was only a myth.

LEILA HEILOS

Apparently not.

CHAD

Awesome. I’ve been making a simulator program for this. But it’s just a simulator...I think I could crack it.

LEILA HEILOS

Then you know that you’ll need to have the password...Iris Check...Thumb--

CHAD

Print, Voice recognition, Weight positive, Sanguinary affirmative, Mother’s maiden name, Jimmy Hoffa’s Burial Mound, The Holy Grail, and a partridge in a pear tree.

LEILA HEILOS

Maybe skip the Partridge, it could get a little messy.

CHAD

I got it covered.

LEILA HEILOS

And he’s humble too.

CHAD

Don’t push it, I might turn you down next time you’re begging to see me.

LEILA HEILOS

Darn.

She walks off with the dinner plates Chad has handed to her.

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THE EATERY

Leila walks over and sits the plates down.

LEILA HEILOS

Here’s your food gentlemen. Have a good meal.

Goffin leans over to Leila.

MR. GOFFIN

Does he think he can do it?

LEILA HEILOS

He can. When do we meet you, and where?

MR. GOFFIN

11:30 tomorrow, 32nd and vine.

LEILA HEILOS

(sarcastic)

Why not just make it midnight.

MR. GOFFIN

All big crimes happen at the stroke of midnight. Why do what they expect?

EXT. A ROOFTOP - SOMETIME

Noir is sitting on the rooftop. Lighting strikes in the distance.

She jumps down from the rooftop, over a brick wall.

EXT. A ZOO - SOMEWHERE

She is back at the zoo.

The same woman is in the cage. There is no crowd.

Noir moves over to the cage, putting her hands on the bars.

The Keypad Clicks in a few numbers, and the shackles release their prisoner. Hathor sits up in the cage.

HATHOR

Are you coming?

NOIR

Yes. I'm coming.

HATHOR

What about your family?

NOIR

What family?

INT. TRAMMEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE - THE NEXT DAY

Goffin slaps a pile of papers on Leila’s desk, awakening her with a start.

MR. GOFFIN

Wake up snow white. Your grades are dismal. The least you can do is feign some interest.

She wakes up groggy, turns to the paper Goffin has given her. It’s an F.

MR. GOFFIN

If you don’t ace this last test, you’re gonna fail.

INT. THE CAFETERIA - THAT DAY

Leila is sitting with her friends, talking, lunching.

BRANDY

So are you excited for tonight?

LEILA HEILOS

Tonight?

CHRISTY

I know, we’re less than 12 hours away from the biggest party ever.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh yea.. About that, Guys.

TERI

You will be there. Right?

LEILA HEILOS

I might have to leave early, you know..

BRANDY

No I don’t know. We’ve been planning this for weeks in advance.

CHRISTY

Yea.

TERI

Oh come now. Surely she has a good excuse.

LEILA HEILOS

Well, umm.

TERI

What is it?

LEILA HEILOS

(lying)

I met someone...

BRANDY

Oh really? And you decided not to tell us.

LEILA HEILOS

No. It’s been just recently. His name is...

She desperately tries to think up a name, and then spots Chad walking toward her in the cafeteria.

LEILA HEILOS

Chad.

CHRISTY

Oh really? Tell us about this “Chad”.

LEILA HEILOS

He’s kinda dorky, but in a cute way.

TERI

Aren’t they all?

BRANDY

Like a Edward Norton dorky or a Hugh Grant?

LEILA HEILOS

More like a Hugh Grant, but on some days he can be a real Screech or Urkel.

CHRISTY

Can’t they all?

LEILA HEILOS

That doesn't happen often though. He’s really sweet, and charming, and supportive.

TERI

Sounds good to me.

BRANDY

I guess you can leave me for him.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh come on babe. You know that you’re the only one for me.

Giggles.

TERI

What are you coming as again?

LEILA HEILOS

I don’t know, we’ll just have to see.

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THAT AFTERNOON

Chad and Leila are working together again.

CHAD

All ready for tonight Leila?

LEILA HEILOS

I don’t know chad. CIA. Wild sister party. I'm having trouble deciding.

CHAD

I’d personally go with the sister party myself.

LEILA HEILOS

Nah, this is my one chance Chad. Maybe this is the piece of the puzzle I’ve been missing. It couldn’t have been easy for dad not to know where he came from all those years.

CHAD

Family might turn out to be something different than what you think.

LEILA HEILOS

What?

CHAD

Nothing, hey, take this. You’re going to need it later.

He pulls from his pocket a small black hook looking object. Clearly a communicator.

LEILA HEILOS

Thanks... Chad,What was it like when your parents divorced.

CHAD

Well, to put it nicely, it was hell. Fighting all the time, for no reason really, and my whole life was affected, friends, grades, the way I viewed relationships. I’ve gotten over most of that now, but I still feel it hanging over me. It ended up hitting me as hard as a death in the family.

LEILA HEILOS

Wow. That’s horrible. Now that you mention it.. my grades have been slipping a little.

CHAD

What subject?

LEILA HEILOS

History mostly, math, science.

CHAD

(not sarcastic)

Sure.

LEILA HEILOS

Excuse me?

CHAD

Sure...You’re next step is to ask me to help you... And my answer is sure.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh.

INT. NOIR’S ROOM - THAT NIGHT

She is sitting on the end of her bed, staring at herself in the mirror. She gets out her Noir outfit, starts putting it on.

INT. BRANDY’S PARTY - THAT NIGHT

Leila walks into the party, dressed as Noir, minus the face makeup.

BRANDY

Whoa! Look what we have here. A Superhero.

TERI

Oh, come off it brandy. She’s clearly a nympho.

CHRISTY

If I guessed, I'd say... A nightmare.

LEILA HEILOS

Very funny guys. I'm obviously a republican.. Look at the guns.

She shows them.

BRANDY

Seriously, what’s the costume?

LEILA HEILOS

Sort of a Nightmarish superhero I guess..I kinda just threw this one together. But I wouldn’t completely forget about the nympho part.. I do have a date tonight.

TERI

Oooh.

CHRISTY

Are you kidding me? By the way this guy sounds you could get him off just as easily quoting the quadratic formula.

Laugh.

INT. A BLOOD BANK - A LITTLE LATER

Frankson, Idan, Hendrix, and Goffin are making last minute checks. Loading their guns.

FRANKSON

Did you inform Tech division about what’s going down tonight?

MR. GOFFIN

As much as I could, they were busy playing half-life.

FRANKSON

Naturally.

Idan is chewing on a piece of gum noisily.

FRANKSON

Idan.

No response.

FRANKSON

Idan. IDAN!

IDAN

Wha?

Frankson holds out his hand.

FRANKSON

Give me that.

Idan shakes his head no.

FRANKSON

Give it to me. Now.

He shakes no.

FRANKSON

Give it to me or I'll shoot you.

He takes out his gun. Aiming it at him.

FRANKSON

I'll count to three. One.. Two...

Idan swallows the gum.

Frankson sighs and holsters his gun.

FRANKSON

Pussy.

INT. BRANDY’S PARTY - LATER

Lots of people, music going, heavy bass, the spirits are flowing. Over in one corner someone is smoking a joint.

Leila looks around from her seat on the kitchen counter.

Brandy is off in one corner making out. Christy is leading someone up the stairs to a corner room.

LEILA HEILOS (V.O.)

What am I doing here?

She gets up and moves to the upstairs bathroom, locking herself in. The party music is only slightly muted, we hear Christy having sex in the next room. She looks at herself in the mirror. She starts applying makeup to her face.

LEILA HEILOS (V.O.)

Problems, it’s all about problems. They drink to forget about their problems, toke up, fuck. Whatever. They’re only running away. That’s all it is. Cowardice. I'm not like that. I solve problems.

She jumps out of the bathroom window.

LEILA HEILOS (V.O.)

Cowards.

EXT. A TOY STORE - THAT NIGHT

Noir lands on a rooftop directly across from the toy store. She affixes the earpiece into her ear, it is also equipped with a camera.

NOIR

Chad?

CHAD (O.S.)

I'm here.

NOIR

Are you sure this thing will work once we get inside.

CHAD (O.S.)

It’ll work.

A SUV pulls up to the side of the Toy store. Out come Goffin and crew, sans Frankson.

NOIR

Gotta go.

She jumps off the roof of the building. Turns to smoke and gently drifts down to the ground. She walks out of the billowing clouds and over to where Goffin is standing.

MR. GOFFIN

You’re early.

NOIR

Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?

The walk over to the front door of the toy store.

MR. GOFFIN

Hendrix. Your turn.

Hendrix walks over to the lock, and picks it. They all walk inside. Quietly closing the door after themselves.

INT. A TOY STORE - MOMENTS LATER

They are all walking in the darkness towards the back of the toy store.

NOIR

Aren’t you missing someone?

MR. GOFFIN

You mean Frankson?

NOIR

Yea.

MR. GOFFIN

He had a prior engagement.

They arrive at the rear of the store, entering the Back room. Piles and boxes of toys line the walls. Leaving no door in sight.

NOIR

What now chad?

CHAD (O.S.)

Did you ever watch Batman when you were a kid?

NOIR

What?

CHAD (O.S.)

Did you ever watch batman?

NOIR

Not really. Why?

CHAD (O.S.)

Whenever they put their coats on the coat rack, the Batcave would open up.

She spots some coat racks out of the corner of her eye. Moves over to them, and twists it around in a full clockwise circle.

The wall falls away and reveals a computer with keyboard. It displays “password?”

INT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE SAME TIME

We see on Chad’s monitors what Noir sees.

CHAD

Okay Leila. Take out the Earpiece. You should find a little Hair crimp looking thing on it’s base. I want you to crimp it onto the cord to the keyboard. I should be able to get you in from there.

We see on one of his computer screens that she successfully crimps it onto the cord. He starts his hacking program. Buzzing. Blips. And then a click.

NOIR (O.C.)

The door opened.

CHAD

I know.. But I won’t be able to keep in contact with you now Leila. I have to have this thing connected to let you back out.

NOIR (O.C.)

Then how will you know when it’s time to let me out?

CHAD

Umm...I hadn’t really planned for this. I could automatically open it every minute on the minute. But that would be too suspicious on their sensors.

NOIR (O.C.)

So...?

CHAD

So i guess I'll open it again at 12. Do you think you can do everything in 30 minutes?

INT. A TOY STORE - THE SAME TIME

NOIR

I hate doing things at the stroke of midnight chad.

MR. GOFFIN

(stepping up)

Come on Leila, we don’t have much time.

IDAN

Yea.

The Men walk off into the Passage, she however, lingers.

INT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE SAME TIME

We see Noir on the computer screen.

NOIR

Chad, I don’t know about this.

CHAD

What? You were all gung ho a couple of minutes ago.

NOIR

Why am I doing this?

CHAD

Leila, she’s your grandmother, you don’t even know her. Don’t give up this one chance you have to meet her.

NOIR

You’re right chad. I'll see you later.

CHAD

Good luck.

We see her walk into the passage. Suddenly Chad’s main monitors flicker and cut out, leaving him only the side miniatures.

They show SWAT teamers rushing onto his lawn and back porch.

CHAD

Shit!

Chad throws aside a mound of Paper to reveal a large COVERED RED BUTTON. He lifts the cover and pushes the button.

All the house lights are immediately turned off. His computer room is shielded with a foot of steel.

EXT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE SAME TIME

We see Frankson coming out of a van. Walking calmly to the front door of the house. It’s covered in steel.

He taps his finger on it and motions to some men. They come over with a door basher.

INT. THE PASSAGEWAY - MOMENTS LATER

They are all walking down the passage. Hendrix catches Goffin’s eye. A questioning look. He points to the inside of his jacket. Goffin shakes no.

NOIR

Do you think it’s far.

MR. GOFFIN

No. You didn’t bring her file with you. Did you?

NOIR

I didn’t. But I brought some old parchment that was attached to it. I thought she’d know what it was.

A room to the right.

We see rows of Blood filled tubing. Connected to a Cross- shaped Bed in the middle of the room. The same one from Leila’s dreams. On it is a Woman, early 30’s, wearing a jumpsuit, bald with a mechanical attachment on her head.

She is Hathor.

NOIR

Oh my god.

Goffin turns to Hendrix, thumbs his nose. Hendrix taps on the inside of his leather jacket twice.

Noir runs over to the bed. Looks around for controls. Finds them. Pushes some buttons. The lines unhook and Hathor’s bed is stood upright. She falls off of it, suddenly free, and stumbles into the arms of Noir.

HATHOR

Who are you.

NOIR

I'm Leila, the daughter of Mahkensu Heilos.

Hathor takes Noir’s face into her hands, Peering into her eyes like an old woman.

HATHOR

You’re my.. My granddaughter?

NOIR

I think so.

HATHOR

You have...my eyes.

NOIR

(tearing up)

Yes.

Hathor notices the parchment.

HATHOR

What’s that?..Is that?

Noir hands it to her.

HATHOR

(amazed)

It is. The Ankh of redemption.

We see Goffin look sharply over at them.

NOIR

The what?

HATHOR

The ankh of redemption. I spent years looking for it. It’s an ancient cantation.

MR. GOFFIN

I thought that’s what it was. But why weren't we able to read it?

HATHOR

It only becomes visible to the reader when the two sides are conjoined...Who are you?

Goffin motions with his arm.

MR. GOFFIN

I am one of the brotherhood. We have come to rescue you and gain vengeance.

HATHOR

Then Sekhmet must be awakened so she can accomplish her task.

NOIR

What?

HATHOR

Sekhmet will be reborn from her ashes, using this manuscript.

Hathor points to it.

NOIR

You can’t be serious?

HATHOR

Did you not bring them to free me so that we can rid ourselves of this evil?

NOIR

I just wanted to meet you.

HATHOR

Leila. You yourself were my emancipator. Don’t you know what they’ve done to me? Imprisonment. For what? For being a vampire. For being as I am. Don’t you think that they will take you as well when they have the chance?

NOIR

You don’t have the right to kill them all because of what a few of them did.

HATHOR

Did you know how your father was conceived? I was raped. Tortured in the Siberian Glaciers to power Russian machines. I’ve been hooked into this machine for at least 30 years...I had a husband once.. They killed him too.

MR. GOFFIN

And now it is time to end them!

HATHOR

Now, where do you stand?

NOIR

I just wanted family. Not death.

HATHOR

But you chose death over family... I called to you for a reason Leila.

There is a scuffle of feet in the passage. Hathor puts the Ankh Pieces away in her Jumpsuit.

MR. GOFFIN

Shit.

NOIR

Not again

She draws her weapons.

HATHOR

I’ve seen those before...

They all take refuge behind various boxes and cables in the room. A SWAT team slowly makes their way into the doorway, the man in front holding a steel shield.

SWAT MAN

FREEZE!

Goffin whips off his leather jacket, revealing micro Uzi’s attached to his holsters, he unhooks a grenade from his jacket, pulls the pin, counts.

MR. GOFFIN

One.. Two...

He throws it.

SWAT MAN

Oh sh...

KABOOM!

The hallway is filled with debris. Goffin nods towards Noir. Together they sweep the hallway for any survivors, there are none. They move back into the room.

MR. GOFFIN

We have to get going soon Hathor, if we plan on awakening Sekhmet tonight.

HATHOR

What time is it?

IDAN

Quarter to 12.

HATHOR

The scroll only works at midnight. I'm afraid that we may not have time tonight.

NOIR

Not again.

HATHOR

What?

MR. GOFFIN

You never mind that, we have t....

HENDRIX

Shh..

MR. GOFFIN

What?

HENDRIX

Shh.

Radio chatter is heard on one of the dead SWAT teamer’s jackets.

RADIO

Report!.. Report!.. SQUAD 13, REPORT!.. Squad 14 and 15, get into position, now... MOVE.

MR. GOFFIN

Fool me twice.

NOIR

Shame on you.

HATHOR

We have to get out of here.

MR. GOFFIN

I don’t think that smoke trick of your’s will work here either honey. It’s all air tight.

NOIR

Then the hallway it is.

She moves out to the hallway, holsters her guns, and easily grabs the heavy steel shield from the dead SWAT member. She clips his radio onto her holsters.

NOIR

Come on then!

They move down the corridor, Goffin holding his Uzi’s, followed by Hathor, then Hendrix and Idan covering the rear.

They walk down the hallway until they reach the entrance in the Toy store. They are at the mouth.

It has been blown open Via explosives, rubble lays everywhere.

NOIR

(to goffin)

Chad must have locked them out.

SWAT MAN

DON’T MOVE!

They are suddenly surrounded by SWAT members that pop out from all sides of the back room. Behind crates, up on top of them, everywhere.

Silence.

NOIR

(to goffin)

Hold this for me.

She slowly hands the shield to Goffin. He gapes at her.

She walks calmly out the entrance with her hands above her head. Moves over to the SWAT officer closest to her, slowly, deliberately.

She moves her arms down to her weapons, slowly.

30 something rifles cock and aim at her.

She hesitantly takes them out butt first, as to hand them over to the officer.

At least that’s what it looks like.

SLOW-MOTION. She whips the pistols around, shooting the officer POINT BLANK, he is ricocheted back, leveling others behind him.

Everyone opens fire. Chaos.

Noir jumps a cartwheel to the right, shooting officers in front of her, bullets whizzing through a smoke image of her whenever needed.

Goffin peeks a hand around the shield with an uzi, taking out officers on the left.

Bullets bounce off the steel shield.

Goffin’s crazed face.

Noir leaps between two men on the ground, they shoot each other through her smoke.

She fires at a man’s Grenade pin, causing it to explode. Goffin simultaneously throws one of his grenades to the left.

SUPER SLOW-MOTION. A MACABRE BALLET OF BODIES caused by the dual grenades.

Noir shoots out the last ones of them.

NORMAL TIME. Goffin and crew come out from the tunnel.

HATHOR

You see the evil that they are?!

NOIR

(dryly)

We broke into a CIA facility. We were dangerous to them.

HATHOR

That doesn’t give them the right to kill us.

NOIR

...What have I been doing with my life?! When did killing people become normal?!? All I wanted to do was to meet my family. Maybe someone who knew what was going on with my parents... I didn’t want.. this...

MR. GOFFIN

Are you coming with us?

NOIR

Coming with you!? Didn’t you just hear what I said.. No more.

She pops the clips out of the guns. They hit the floor.

MR. GOFFIN

I'm sorry then..

Goffin takes out a puck looking device from his belt.. Taps it and throws it on the ground. It smokes up and Goffin and others leave Via the cover.

Noir cries.

INT. CHAD’S HOUSE

We see chad’s room, he is watching his security monitors..

There is banging on his doors. He reaches for his telephone.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME

Mahkensu is in his bed, the phone rings.

MR. HEILOS

Hello?.. Who is this?...Level five?.. Be right over.

INT. GEMINI’S PLACE - THE NEXT DAY

Leila is sitting at a table, dressed as Noir. The facial makeup however has changed. The Eye of Ra is still on her face, but without the white powder underneath.

Her mom walks in the front door and sits down across from her.

MRS. HEILOS

What’s this all about Leila? That wild party you had last night?

LEILA HEILOS

Mom, I haven't been telling you everything about my life.

MRS. HEILOS

You’re pregnant?

LEILA HEILOS

No mom. I.. I'm a vampire.

MRS. HEILOS

Really?

LEILA HEILOS

Yea.

She takes out her pistols and lays them on the table

Mrs. Heilos is shocked.

MRS. HEILOS

My Leila. I didn’t. but how?

LEILA HEILOS

I don’t know how. A couple of years ago... I don’t know what happened. It’s like it was overnight. And the next day I was--

MRS. HEILOS

--Like this?... I don’t know what to say. Your father would know how to handle it... He supposedly spent time in the CIA working with vampires or something.

LEILA HEILOS

He what?!

MRS. HEILOS

He spent time in the CIA working with vampires.. Or so he said.. I always thought he was covering up for what he really did.

People are slowly leaving the Pizza place.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh my God. He’s one of them. I can’t believe it.

MRS. HEILOS

The CIA? No.. you know as well as I do that he works for the airplane company..Worked for the airline.. The CIA is what he did for your country instead of going to Vietnam.

The place is bare besides them, a radio hisses.

LEILA HEILOS

Shit...

MRS. HEILOS

Don’t use that kind of language young--

LEILA HEILOS

--Get under the table!

CIA RUSH INTO THE RESTAURANT FROM ALL DIRECTIONS.

They open fire.

SLOW-MOTION. Noir whips her pistols out, fires at them. Taking out as many as possible.

Runs out of ammunition.

Holsters guns. Still more.

Hand to hand combat is all that’s left. CIA still shooting.

One agent throws a knife her way, grazing her.

She throws chairs, tables. Uses their own weapons against them.

Finally they are all dead.

NORMAL TIME. Noir goes over to a table ridden with holes. Frantic. Shoves it aside.

Her mother is there, SHOT multiple times to the stomach, bleeding badly. ENTRAILS.

MRS. HEILOS

(steady voice)

Maybe if you could turn me into a vampire too?.. Maybe I'll make it? Right?

LEILA HEILOS

Okay.. okay..

Leila takes a knife from the floor and cuts her shaking wrist. Bleeding into her mother’s wound. Covers her cut.

MRS. HEILOS

It’s not.. Working..

LEILA HEILOS

It’ll work mom. It will.

MRS. HEILOS

Tell me Leila..

She coughs up blood.

MRS. HEILOS

Was I a good parent to you?

LEILA HEILOS

(crying)

Yes mom.. Always..

MRS. HEILOS

I wish I just had one more day..

Mrs. Heilos screams agonizingly, more guts fall out.

MRS. HEILOS

Leila, make it over already.

She grabs someone’s gun laying next to her. Staring at it horrifically.

LEILA HEILOS

Mom?...

Mrs. Heilos nods, and cocks the gun for her. Entrails gush from her abdomen. She hands the gun to her, shakily.

LEILA HEILOS

I love you mom.

She shoots her.

Leila falls to a heap, crying.

CIA agents rush her and arrest her.

Leila makes no struggle.

INT. A CLOCK TOWER - LATER

Hendrix comes up the stairs to the sitting Goffin.

HENDRIX

Sir.

MR. GOFFIN

Yes hendrix. And don’t call me sir here.

HENDRIX

We located the radio signal in Leila’s earpiece.

MR. GOFFIN

And?

HENDRIX

The squads that were sent failed to neutralize her.

MR. GOFFIN

I need some good news hendrix. Do you understand?

HENDRIX

Yes sir.

MR. GOFFIN

And if you call me sir one more time I'll get frankson to shoot you in the balls.

HENDRIX

Okay... Alec.

MR. GOFFIN

Get out of here.

HENDRIX

One more personal question.. Alec.

MR. GOFFIN

Shoot.

HENDRIX

What the hell did we do back there. I mean, I follow your orders unquestionably sir, but our own men?

MR. GOFFIN

Trust me Hendrix.

Hendrix walks off.

INT. A CELL - THAT NIGHT

Two lab coated men throw Leila into a cell, we see them discussing her outside.

LAB MAN 1

She’s only a quarter, we can’t use her for anything.

LAB MAN 2

Only a quarter?! How do you explain how powerful she is? I know half vampires that don’t match her biometrics.

LAB MAN 1

Nobody ever told her how much she was, or what her limits were, she just found them out herself.

The lab men walk off. We go inside the cell. Noir lays on the floor of the cell, limp.

INT. A CLOCK TOWER - A LITTLE LATER

Goffin sits with Hathor as they put together the pieces of the map. The map has a directional blip as well as a distance meter.

MR. GOFFIN

We’ll leave here in about an hour, it still isn’t completely dark.

HATHOR

Make it two. We don’t want to get there too early. They have a better chance of catching us then.

MR. GOFFIN

Right.

Our view shifts out to see the clock where they are hiding, it reads 9:10. We zoom down to a van on the side walk. Idan and Hendrix are in it.

IDAN

What the hell is he doing?

HENDRIX

He said to trust him.

IDAN

And?

HENDRIX

I'm going to trust him for tonight.

IDAN

Whatever. I still say we call in.

INT. THE TOYSTORE - THE SAME TIME

Two masked men walk with purpose to the back door, opening it, downing two guards with a silenced pistol.

Walking through the blown out hole. They go down the corridor, past Hathor’s captivity room, past other rooms. Till they get to the end.

More guards. The masked men take them down side by side, duallies in hand, covering the room in lead tinsel.

Everything is quiet. The pair moves over to the door, where they take off their masks.

It’s Mahkensu Heilos and Chad. Chad starts fiddling with the electrical lock. Mr. Heilos looks through the bodies.

CHAD

It’s a triple encoded card reader.

MR. HEILOS

How do you know the name for all this stuff?

CHAD

I'm level five remember? I need pliers or something to break it..

Heilos finds something on one of the bodies.

MR. HEILOS

How about the key card?

Tosses the card to him.

CHAD

Tha’d work.

They open the door to discover Noir, sitting on the bed, crying. Mr. Heilos and Chad walk in.

Leila runs over to her father. Hugs him.

LEILA HEILOS

Dad, you came for me.

MR. HEILOS

Leila, come on, we have to get out of here.

LEILA HEILOS

Mom’s dead.

MR. HEILOS

What?

LEILA HEILOS

Mom’s dead. I killed her...she was dying...and I tried to...To...And she asked me to shoot... To shoot..

MR. HEILOS

Oh god honey..

They hug.

LEILA HEILOS

Daddy, I'm sorry I never told you about my.. Condition.

MR. HEILOS

Leila, I'm so sorry.. I never told you either.. I'm half vampire.

LEILA HEILOS

You’re what?

MR. HEILOS

Half vampire. The pistols were mine. They were given to me by an Egyptian shaman, he told me about my abilities, and he told me that it was because I'm male that they weren't as strong as they should be.

LEILA HEILOS

But you worked for the CI-- You were one of them...

MR. HEILOS

I still am, but I'm with the rest of the department, I had no idea what they were doing to the vampire captives, I caught one or two instead of going to nam’.

LEILA HEILOS

How did you get here?

MR. HEILOS

Chad helped me. He called me, in a jam, told me about your powers.. I realized then what a fool I had been.

LEILA HEILOS

He told you about my powers?

CHAD

(walking in)

I know more than you think I do. I work for the internal affairs department... Now we need to get going.

They run outside.

INT. A CLOCK TOWER - A LITTLE LATER

Frankson comes walking in briskly.

MR. GOFFIN

Frankson?

FRANKSON

Alec, it seems I need to have a talk with you.

MR. GOFFIN

Certainly.

They walk down the stairs a ways.

MR. GOFFIN

What are you doing here?

FRANKSON

The question is.. What are you doing here?

MR. GOFFIN

Did you get the boy?

FRANKSON

No, he had outside help.

MR. GOFFIN

Mahkensu...

Frankson nods.

MR. GOFFIN

I knew we should have gotten him first.

FRANKSON

What are you doing with her?

MR. GOFFIN

Why catch a honey bee when you can follow it back to the whole hive?

FRANKSON

Good...I just wish you told me earlier.

MR. GOFFIN

It’s almost show time. Get me 10 teams on standby for tonight. And 5 more on the surroundings.

Frankson nods and leaves.

INT. THE HEILOS HOME - A LITTLE LATER

Leila, Mahkensu, and Chad are sitting at the kitchen table, They all pick at something they are tyring to eat.

CHAD

So what happened?

LEILA HEILOS

We got her out, and then she and Goffin teamed up, and now they’re on their way to find Sekhmet, and they’re going to kill everyone. Goffin’s been playing me this whole time.

CHAD

THE Sekhmet?

LEILA HEILOS

I guess, but I don’t know where she is. And even if we did, we only have an hour and a half until she is awakened, Th-

CHAD

--e Scroll only works at midnight.

MR. HEILOS

Chad?

CHAD

I'm well read.

MR. HEILOS

Whatever.

LEILA HEILOS

If you know so much about this then how come you don’t know where sekhmet is?

CHAD

I think I might actually, although it’s a shame you never went on that date to the museum with me.

LEILA HEILOS

They might have her tomb with the Halloween exhibit!

CHAD

Right!

MR. HEILOS

Now that you mention it, I did read something in the paper about it I think.

CHAD

Then lets go.

MR. HEILOS

One second.

He moves over to a cabinet, opening it, inside is ammunition.

MR. HEILOS

We need to be prepared.

They grab the ammo and go, taking the guns they had lain on the counter.

I/E. A VEHICLE - NIGHT

Hathor and goffin are riding to the museum.

HATHOR

Where are the others?

MR. GOFFIN

Dunno. I think they just left us. It must have been too much for them.

HATHOR

That’s the problem with this world, no one is willing to go the distance. We hurt other people because we aren’t enough ourselves.

MR. GOFFIN

I don’t think it’s that Hathor. I think we hurt people because we were all meant to be hurt. We are designed for hurt.

HATHOR

And why is that Alec?

MR. GOFFIN

If we weren't meant for pain, we’d have no pain receptors, half of our brain would be used for something else.

HATHOR

Alec, with out pain, how can you understand what pleasure is? Pain is only a nessicary evil.

EXT. CHAD’S HOUSE

The trio walks to Chad’s garage. They open it.

Inside is a brand new Ford GTO, dark blue with two Black stripes.

Leila is amazed.

CHAD

What? Company car. The job has it’s perks.

I/E. CHAD’S FORD GTO

Mahkensu, Leila, and Chad pull up in front of the museum. Mr. Heilos hands out weapons from the trunk.

MR. HEILOS

Okay everyone, remember, vampires. Shoot for the head or the heart. Leila, use your rounds sparingly, Only one per will do.

LEILA HEILOS

Why me?

MR. HEILOS

The pistols have a shaman accuracy blessing on them, remember.

MR. HEILOS(cont'd)Why else did you think the Eye on it glows when you shoot?

They all pile out of the vehicle and approach the museum.

We zoom to the top floor of the museum, about 10 stories high. It’s all glass walls and ceiling.

INT. THE MUSEUM - SAME TIME

Hathor and Goffin are walking through the exhibits. They come to a sarcophagus. On it are inscriptions of a Lion headed Woman eating people.

HATHOR

This is it. All we have to do now is read the Scroll and it will be done.

She begins reading the Scroll, Egyptian words come off of her tongue. Goffin reaches into his jacket. Taps twice. She keeps reading.

Men armed with Cannonesque side arms come out of every nook and cranny of the Museum.

They surround her as she stops reading.

HATHOR

Alec, we’re surrounded.

MR. GOFFIN

No. You’re surrounded.

He takes out a pistol from his jacket.

MR. GOFFIN

(to hendrix and idan)

Good work.

He moves over to hathor, takes the scroll.

MR. GOFFIN

I'll have that...And now--

HATHOR

--I'm not going back.

MR. GOFFIN

Good. I didn’t expect you to.

(motions)

The agents open fire with their oversize guns. SHOOTING METAL STAKES EVERYWHERE.

Hathor manages to take some of them down as she GROWS WINGS on her back, flying through the room.

Her wings are soon torn off by flying stakes, and she starts crawling along the ceiling and walls, using the stakes as hand-holds, shooting with various dead agent’s guns.

She finally shatters through a high rise window. Falling.. Falling...

Just then, Leila and crew break in from a side door. Only to see hathor falling to her doom.

Until hathor sprouts a second pair of wings.

A huge searchlight shines on her from the other building. Causing her to scream in agony. Paralyzed.

A flurry of stakes from the rooftop finally kills her, impaling her to the side of the building. A Gigantic Fly specimen on display.

Leila and company turn back towards Goffin. Agents are putting special equipment around the tomb.

LEILA HEILOS

What are you doing?

MR. GOFFIN

Silly girl. You are too easy, but since you’re so dense I'll let you in on our little secret. I'm going to use Sekhmet here for power. Just like I used Hathor for power, and then threw her away when I found a better energy source. I am an environment friendly man. Now, If you would kindly die. Vampires are a...consumable resource.

LEILA HEILOS

You betrayed my family twice.

MR. GOFFIN

And your family fell for it twice.

Goffin nods to agents.

A HUGE firefight. Metal Stakes everywhere. a LEAD CACOPHONY.

Agents falling left and right. Bullets zip around the room, shattering display after glass display.

The exhibits come into play, offering alternate weapons to use. Spears, swords, throwing stars, the glass pieces themselves.

Goffin starts READING THE SCROLL.

LEILA HEILOS

He’s going to awaken her!

Leila charges him, firing multiple times. He is hit once. The other bullets deflected by one of Chad’s tumbling victims.

GOFFIN KEEPS READING. Nobody has ammo left. All is lost.

CHAD

Mahkensu!

(points to a glass case)

In the case is an Egyptian bow and arrow, with the EYE OF RA ON THEM. The Shaman’s blessing.

Mahkensu grabs the bow and arrow. The tomb is GLOWING blood red. He cocks, aims, shoots. The eye of Ra on the bow glows faintly.

The arrow soars high towards him, in a straight path. It looks as if it is too low to hit his head. And it is. It will miss his Forehead.

It goes straight through his vocal chords. And sticks in his throat.

Goffin coughs and tries to speak. Cannot. Goffin raises his firearm towards Leila, and she looks at him, stunned.

He fires at her.

But it is only smoke. The bullet ricochets off of a large metal shield behind Leila. It hits him in the right eye. Killing him.

Silence.

Police sirens in the distance.

CHAD

We have to get out of here!

LEILA HEILOS

Don’t you get tired of saying that?

CHAD

Just come on.

Motions to her.

Leila starts off and remembers the Scroll. Comes back and stuffs it into her holsters.

INT. CITY MORGUE - TOMORROW NIGHT

MORTICIAN

I'm sorry this call came so late.

MR. HEILOS

It’s okay.

He pulls open a drawer. On it the table is Mrs. Heilos.

Leila moves over to her.

LEILA HEILOS

Mom...I'm sorry...I'm sorry for not being there with you enough...I'm sorry I wasn’t enough to save you...I'm sorry.

She is crying steadily now.

LEILA HEILOS

(to mortician)

Yea.. That’s her.

She moves away. Crying, father’s arm around her. She reaches into her pocket, grabs something.

The mortician is closing the drawer.

LEILA HEILOS

(to mortician)

Wait!

It’s the Ankh of redemption scroll.

She takes it out of her pocket, putting the scroll together. Moves over to her mother again. We see the words on the scroll and she reads them, in a foreign tongue. She is reading it.

Mr. Heilos turns to her.

The body is pouring out light. A Bright white light. It flows over the table like liquid, moving towards Leila. It connects with her feet, turning a shade of scarlet.

Leila is done reading the scroll, the light intensifies to maximum luminosity. All the lights in the morgue snap off, emergency ones kick on.

Mrs. Heilos sits up in the coffin.

LEILA HEILOS

Mom!

They hug.

INT. CHAD’S HOUSE - THE NEXT MORNING.

Leila comes up. Rings the doorbell, once, twice.

A man walks out of the house. Strange, glasses.

A MAN

Hello miss.

LEILA HEILOS

Is Chad here?

A MAN

I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong house.

LEILA HEILOS

No, I'm pretty sure that chad lives here.

A MAN

Really? How odd. No one’s been living here for at least 2 years.

LEILA HEILOS

Hmm

A ring on her cell phone. She picks it up.

CHAD (O.S.)

Looking for someone?

LEILA HEILOS

You devil. Where are you.

CHAD (O.S.)

Nowhere in particular.

The Blue GTO pulls up, Chad inside.

LEILA HEILOS

How do you keep doing that.

CHAD

I was in the neighborhood. Hop in.

She jumps in the car. It revs up and takes off.

I/E. CHAD’S BLUE FORD GTO - SAME

CHAD

That was an associate of mine. I have to switch houses now that my cover was blown. Imagine having to explain that a SWAT team ruined the neighbors petunias.. So... About those grades of yours.

LEILA HEILOS

Oh yea.. I totally forgot about the whole thing.

CHAD

I guess it doesn't help that you killed your history professor.

LEILA HEILOS

Yea, he’s history..

CHAD

And I thought I made all the bad jokes. I’ve taken the liberty of giving you all A’s this semester.

LEILA HEILOS

Really?

CHAD

Why not?

Moment.

CHAD

Leila, I wasn’t lying to you about my parents and all. I just want you to know that.

LEILA HEILOS

Chad. Thank you. For all of it.

CHAD

No sweat.

She leans over and kisses him on the cheek.

CHAD

You’re all straightened out now miss. But my boss doesn't want anymore trouble out of you for a while.

LEILA HEILOS

What about the blood factories?

CHAD

Never existed.

LEILA HEILOS

Who are you with?

CHAD

Internal Affairs.

LEILA HEILOS

...I guess I can’t fight anymore?

CHAD

No. You work with me now. Maybe we can kick the right asses.

LEILA HEILOS

..so How about that date I owe you.

CHAD

What about it..

The car zooms off.

The end.
