"When the traveling Crimson Carnival arrives in Zore, Vivian’s search for answers leads her to a masked performer whose grief mirrors her own — unaware that the stage’s final act may be more than an illusion, and the next Shade is waiting in the spotlight."

Under the glow of festival lanterns, Zore bursts to life with celebration, magic, and secrets. While Solaris, Bean, and Picknick scramble to keep Vivian hidden from the Bergeron Guard, King Castien quietly dispatches Crag, Zaiden, and Julia to retrieve his daughter before the last lantern burns out. Meanwhile, Lydia prepares for her biggest performance yet. Haunted by her twin brother and manipulated by the Conductor’s shadowy influence, she hides behind the glamorous persona of the Ruby Princess. Vivian’s path crosses Lydia’s in a moonlit garden, where a song about love and loss begins to unravel both their defenses. But behind every note lies a lie, and every mask conceals a monster. As the curtain rises, Lydia’s performance begins to fracture reality itself. Solaris watches from the rooftops, the King from his balcony, and Vivian from the crowd — unaware that the stage is a trap designed to draw her out. By the time the final chord strikes, the Shade hears its cue.
